Testing laboratories have been accredited by IANZ since 1973, and
were among the first in the world to be accredited. These laboratories
are involved in testing items of all types, including those essential
for health, safety and trade. Today over 560 testing and calibration
laboratories are accredited by IANZ each year. All are accredited
to the same international standard that is accepted in 49 economies
throughout the world.
Accredited
laboratories are generally assessed fully every three years. Surveillance
assessments are carried out in each intervening year.

All
are accredited to the international standard NZS ISO/IEC 17025 General
Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
